Neutral Eyes

Hey beauties, here is a more neutral look... this is the kind of makeup you will find me in when I am wearing makeup.  I used Tom Ford Cognac Sable palette to create this look.  You could easily use this for bride makeup if you want neutral tones.

I was really testing out the palette and what I can tell you is that the price is really not for everyone at £62... I really had to think about whether it was worth the money and I can tell you right now NO its not, however this is Tom Ford.  The colours can be duped easily by cheaper brands or mid range like MAC, Makeup Forever, Illamasqua etc.
What is really good about the palette is the texture and feel of the shadows, none of them are matte but they are not overly shiny which is interesting because I tend to favour a matte outer corner however the darkest brown in the palette was able to define my crease without depositing loads of shine which is not easy to come by.  The glitter shades are also interesting, they do produce a lot of fall out if you use a brush but with your finger no fall out.  I have to say it is a very beautiful palette, when you look at it you.  The shadows blends so easily together and most importantly for me is that the shadows show up on my brown skin.  The palette is also very versatile, you can do many different looks with it and I love that one palette means less makeup to carry around.  This is not a regret purchase for me because I love Tom Ford makeup and I did purchase one other TF palette, will I purchase another ummmm maybe one more but I will stick to the rest of line mainly the lip products. I am very happy with how this look turned out, I ended up using a TF blush and lipstick.  If I was to recommend any product, it would be his blushes, they are so beautiful some deceptive in their colour as a brown girl I look for stuff that will show up on my skin tone and TF blushes do not disappoint and if you want to splash on something I would say try his blush.

See you in my next post love

Plum Smokie Eyes

Hey beauties, here is my first look in a while but lets jump right in with this pretty plum smokie eye... in this I am wearing Laura Mercier Oil Surpreme... while it looks nice it does not perform the way I expect it to.  After a few hours of wear it looks white and should rain touch your skin it slides of leaving this white residue, for the high price I don't expect that.  I would guess this foundation is in the same market as the Chanel Perfection Lumiere and frankly that leaves this foundation in the dust.  I do like that it is very light, covers well and looks amazing on but its the performance that ends up mattering in the end, I would give out of 10 a 4.

I hope you enjoy this look as I really like how is turned out.

High End Haul

Hi beauties, long time... lets jump right in with high end haul for me to share with you.  I love some high end products not all are good and of the stuff I bought I am disappointed with only 1 product which would be the Laura Mercier Foundation, while it applies well and looks so nice on the skin, it feels like skin however for oil free supreme it separates in the heat, it won't be noticed unless you take a mirror to your face and slide of if rain should get anywhere near you and for £34 pounds I don't want that to happen.  Personally I like to put my face on and go, I don't mind touching up but I am now so used to not having to that I feel like If I am spending £34 I don't want my product to even attempt to separate... separating if for me worse that sliding out because with sliding off I could take my powder and patch get it to be still again, when it separates part of the face will look okay and other parts not so great.  Now I tried different ways to apply, beauty blender, my hands, stippling brush normal paint brush still, I found the beauty blender brought out the best in terms off finish.  If you plan on not doing to much running around its fine but if you plan on running around and running a lot of errands, or live in a hot country or get court in any rain, I suggest you don't purchase this and go for something else.

I am most impressed with Kevyn Aucoin, while it does have mineral oil, jojoba seed oil, so oily and combination will either lump it because its that good, set it really well or mix it with something long lasting.  I have combination oils and mix mine with a dab of Mac Pro Longwear concealer and it stays just fine.  This product is a beat, it covers anything and can be used as a high light, concealer, foundation, cream contour.  If you purchase different colours.  It contains 18 grams less than an ounce however trust me when I say a dab can be used for the whole face.  I guess the only thing I dislike is the heavy smell of oil.  If they manage to come out with a longwear version of this it would make my world a happy place.

Another great product is Estee Lauder Double Wear, now that is pretty impressive, as a combination oily person, it s must for me to wear a foundation that stays on and THIS stays on and look great, it covers ever so well, it can feel a little heavy but you can sheer it out, I DISLIKE THE LACK OF A PUMP, it makes regulating how much you need harder.  Nars Pro Prime Eye Shadow base, while they are cheaper brands that do that, I have to say it offer a lot of product and the shadow stays long than you ever need it to stay on.  When you go to take it off its a bit of work, I wouldn't rush to buy it again because ELF lid primer is just as good at a much lower price.  I hate the white bottom half, it attracts makeup like crazy.

I also love Chanel Le Volume De Chanel.  I bought the waterproof one and it holds a curl and makes me like my short lashes a little bit more.  Tom Ford while stupidly expensive his lipstick feel like butter, the two palettes impressed me in that none of the colours are matte yet don't shine out, they are again soooo smooth so easy to blend and they look like not much can happen but they are pretty pigmented.  They are more luxury than anything, the glitter shade do fall down when apply so I suggest using a glitter base or leaving your base till last, but once on the eye they don't drop down.

I am disappointed with Z Palette in that its not really that much magnet going on so your shadow can still crack or fall out if you tip it with little force, I expected  better but it does the job.

Light and Bright

When you want that glow and not too much make up on your face or eyes.  To look done up but not over done.  While I love colour, I am most often in neutral colours just because it suits me and I love the softer colours, plus it is much easier to kick this look up than the dial colour back.

This is good for those will combination oily to oily skin as, to get this glow we have to do things a little differently as make up tends to slide from our combination oily to oily skin.  You can do one of 2 things, use strobe cream, high lighting creams and mix them into a longwear foundation or you can use pressed high lights that will give you the glow, the great thing about adding liquid high lights into your foundation is that the glow looks like its coming from within as opposed being put on top of the skin, but this is nothing good blending to do.  Deep skin dark golds, peach go great with our skin.  Find ones that complement your skin and place on the high points of your cheeks and light dust all over that is they high lights are pressed.

Hope you enjoy

Goldilux (Sugarpill)

Hey beauties, gold is always a pretty colour to wear.  All skin shades can wear gold as gold comes in all sorts of shades.  I have loved Sugarpill loose pigment in Goldilux for such a long time, its such a beautiful pigment, looks like liquid gold on your eyes.  Gold is a great way to combine a bright lip and bright eye, while keeping.  I think the base makes it jump a lot more and they work together very well.  I liked this look, its pretty simple to achieve and that also my favourite part.  Look that may look like they take work but really don't.  Pigments are some of my favourite shadows purely because they can be worn wet dry, or made into eye-liner.

See you all in the next tutorial.
